Studio & Operations Coordinator
Job Title: Studio & Operations Coordinator
Location: Brooklyn, New York (not remote)
Hours: Part-time, 15-20 hours/week
The Role:
You’ll be the operational heartbeat of the abacaxi studio β keeping inventory organized, orders moving, samples accounted for, and the space running smoothly. You’ll work closely with founder Sheena Sood and will be one of the first people she relies on to keep the brand functioning day to day.
This is a hands-on, in-person role based at our Brooklyn studio. No two weeks look exactly alike, but here is what you’ll be responsible for:
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Receiving and logging incoming shipments β samples, production, packaging, and supplies
- Packing and sending outgoing online orders accurately and on time
- Organizing and maintaining inventory, samples, and the studio space so everything is easy to find and accounted for
- Handling press and influencer sample pulls β coordinating send-outs, tracking returns, and keeping records
- Responding to customer inquiries via email and DM with warmth, clarity, and on-brand communication
- Keeping the studio clean, organized, and functioning as a professional creative space. Assisting with updates to the space and layout
- Recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day coordination of seasonal interns
- Working during our open studios, pop-up shops, shows, and other local events
- Supporting the founder with general operational tasks as the brand grows
Who You Are:
You’re early in your career β or transitioning into fashion β and you’re drawn to the operational side of how a brand runs. You’re the person who notices when things are disorganized and fixes them without being asked. You take pride in doing things correctly and completely.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail β you don’t let things slip through the cracks
- A clear, warm communicator β in writing and in person
- Physically capable of and comfortable with hands-on studio work β receiving boxes, steaming garments, maintaining a tidy space
- Reliable and consistent β the team counts on you to show up and follow through
- Genuinely interested in the fashion industry and drawn to independent, mission-driven brands
- Comfortable working closely with a founder in a small, fast-moving environment
- Some experience in retail sales, operations, event coordination, office management, garment production, or a similar hands-on role is a huge plus β but not required if you can demonstrate the right instincts
You don’t need to have any design background. But you should genuinely care about craft, quality, and the kind of brand abacaxi is building β because that will show in every customer email you write and every sample you send out.
